Pallets for Charity
In recent years, Global Ceramics have been keen to support local charities, in particular the various wards within the Southampton Hospital Trust. 2020 saw Global Ceramics raise more than their £10,000 target for The Piam Brown Ward, the Children’s cancer ward, by raising over £11,000 for the charity which is close to the hearts of the family run business.
Each year brings the new challenge of raising further funds for other wards within the trust. A large amount of the money raised by Global Ceramics is through the recycling of pallets. Any pallets used on-site are then sold to be re-used/re-cycled rather than being placed in the on-site skips. The money raised by the sale of the pallets is put straight into the charity fund, with the total amount being matched by a contribution from Global Ceramics or other fundraising events.
Global 2020 Challenge
2020 saw Global Ceramics 20th Anniversary, so to help mark the occasion of their 20th year in business some team members took on the challenge of completing 2020km in 20 days by running, walking and cycling. We managed to smash our target by achieving 3100km and raising £3500 for The Piam Brown Ward, Children’s cancer ward at Southampton General Hospital.
2020 Lockdown
During the 2020 lockdown, Global offered the use of their vans to various charities and organisations who needed items transported. We were asked to help in various ways including – Moving items for the NHS including Laptops and bottled water stocks to various NHS properties, assisting food banks with collection of donated foods and delivering party items to various care homes for the Queens Jubilee. Our team really stepped up to the plate at this time to help our local communities.
