New Addington Leisure Centre

Global Ceramics having worked with this client, Willmott Dixon Construction for approximately 20 years on various projects. This was the third leisure centre which includes the installation of tiling solutions at other leisure centres, Edenbrook Leisure Centre, Fleet and Littlehampton Leisure Centre. This showed the confidence that they had in us completing the works to a high standard.

In 2019, Global Ceramics were invited to tender for one of Willmott Dixon Construction projects to provide a tiling solution for a new build Leisure Centre in New Addington.

Global Ceramics were delighted to have been selected by Willmott Dixon Construction to carry out the works which included all the tiling for the main pool, all the changing areas, a teaching pool, a 25m competition pool and pool halls along with a main entrance area and staircase.  In addition, we were also tasked with rendering to the swimming pool tanks ensuring the pools were constructed within the tolerances required for a competition pool. A project which would take approximately six months requiring 4300m2 of tiling.

The project enabled us to use the specialist knowledge previous expertise required when installing tiles at a leisure centre. The skill set of which can vary from domestic or other commercial installations, often requiring approximately 30 different types of tiles, all required to meet the high standards of health and safety and longevity within all the different areas to ensure the safety of the general public e.g. non-slip, easy to clean etc. The tiles, adhesive and grout were supplied by Spectile Ltd,  to ensure high standard products were used throughout the installation.

We are really proud of the final product we helped to create which will be used by the community for many years to come.
