Roegate, East Wellow
Tiling plays a key role in the overall design of this property, from the external walls to the interiors. This includes 5 en-suite bathrooms, a pool, steam room, and an impressive double-height feature wall in the main entrance. Each property is unique, and built to the highest standards of “high quality living”. And with over 450m2 of tile-work throughout Roegate, Global Ceramic Tiling were keen to show off their commitment to premium tiling - not simply as a utility, but as a central component to stylish design.
Numerous Porcelanosa tiles were used during the project, with Mapei adhesives and grouts to ensure the highest standard of fit. Global Ceramic Tiling worked closely with the client throughout the project to ensure that every tile did justice to the designer’s vision.
This was especially the case in the main entrance hall. This room is intended to have an effect, and the double-height feature wall, combined with a bespoke walnut-and-glass staircase, plays no small part. Globe Wall Shannan tiles were selected for their natural grey stone finish, complementing the woody tones of the walnut stairs. These tiles also make excellent use of the light in the hall due to their uneven surface. Paired with the full height anodised aluminium windows, as well as electric under-lighting, the tiles create depth and shadow that further lifts the character of this impressive entrance.
These same Globe Wall Shannan tiles were used for the external wall. A central quality of Roegate is its connection to its surroundings; the wood and grey stone tiling of its exterior blends with the wooded grounds. The many large windows offer panoramic views of the Hampshire countryside, and allow plenty of light into the property. And by using Globe Wall Shannan tiles both on the exterior and on the feature wall in the entrance, Global Ceramic Tiling created a sense of continuity as you move through the property.
The grey stone tones continue into the bathrooms and wet rooms. Here, a combination of Dover Acero 310x590mm, Rodano Silver 590x590mm, and Tribeca Caliza 800x800mm tiles were used. These tiles carry on the natural aesthetic of the house, whilst moving to a smoother finish and the clean lines that mark the overall design of the property. These fit comfortably in a bathroom setting. For the wet rooms, Global Ceramic Tiling utilised the Porcelanosa waterproof tanking system to ensure a high quality fitting beneath the elegant surface.
Roegate is a premium development that keeps its natural surroundings at heart. Every aspect of its design, from the many large windows and their stunning views, to the behind-the-scenes functions of the house (solar panelling, eco-digestive draining and an air-source heat pump), shows a commitment and respect for the environment. Global Ceramic Tiling were keen to follow this through in the tiling that takes pride of place both inside and outside the property. We worked closely with the developer and designers to ensure that each tile stayed true to Roegate’s green ethos, whilst also showing off the central role that tiling can take in a premium modern design.
